Steeped in history and legends combined with ancient monuments and the scenic beauty of the Tungabhadra River, it is the perfect Short Escape. Itinerary

Pick Up – 8 AM

Our representative will pick you up from your hotel. You will be travelling by road to Hampi. The road distance is about 343 kms which can be covered in about 7 to 8 hours with a 1 hour stop for lunch.

At Hampi, you will be staying at a heritage resort. (We will share hotel options with you to choose from based on your budget). Our representative will help you with the check in formalities and you can spend the rest of the day in leisure.

Hampi by Night experience - The first of its kind in the world, this curated night tour of Hampi makes the story of the great city come alive through immersive sound and light shows with techno-creative illuminations. ​ ‘Hampi by Night’ is an expedition conceived by the Hampi World Heritage Management Authority (HAWAMA) and the Department of Tourism, Karnataka. The five-hour guided tour allows visitors to walk through 19 illuminated monuments. Among the monuments and temples that are a part of the Hampi by Night tour are the Virupaksha Temple, Sugriva caves, Vishnu Temple, the ancient bridge, Achyutaraya Temple, Varaha Temple, Narasimha temple, Achyuta Mantap, elephant stables, and the Lotus Mahal. Apart from the temples, the tour will also include a visit to the illuminated bazaars of Hampi like the Virupaksha Bazaar.

Spend your morning at your own pace. We recommend you visit the Hampi Bazaar and indulge in some retail therapy.

After an early lunch of traditional vegetarian thali, we will be visiting the Sloth Bear Sanctuary located at a distance of 10 km from Hampi.

Sunset at Matanga Hill – Post the safari, we will return to Hampi to witness a gorgeous sunset at Matanga Hill with a panoramic view of the lost kingdom of Hampi. Matanga Hill is one of the highest points in Hampi and the perfect place to watch the sunset.

Coracle Ride – Post breakfast, enjoy a coracle ride on the river Tungabhadra. Coracles are traditional circular boats. As you glide through the waters, you will see a number of rock-cut temples on the hill sides as well as gorgeous views of the unique rocky landscape.

Visit the famous Virupaksh Temple – The temple dates back to the 7th century and boasts of a rich heritage and astounding architecture. It is one of India’s oldest functioning temples. You can walk through the complex and see the sculptures and wall carvings depicting stories from mythology and if you want, get blessings from the temple elephant.

Hippie Island – After your visit to the temple, spend the day chilling at Hippie Island. Hampi is split into two sides, one is the heritage side (monuments and temples) and other is Virupapur village side, popularly known as Hippie Island. You can spend your time here climbing the boulders, cliff diving, driving a moped around the coconut trees and banana plantations or chilling in the cafes.

Day 4 – Return to Bangalore
